Environment & Nature Policy
For us at Wilderness Life it is important to think about the environment and the sustainability of it. As a nature company, we are directly dependent on nature as we strive towards giving our customers true experiences in nature and wilderness. Therefore, we are working with an environmental and nature policy and also strive to meet the requirements of EN ISO 14001 environmental management system and continually improve our environmental performance and minimize our impact. In short, we are working for a sustainable nature.
- One of our most important points is the Leave No Trace (LNT). The durability of nature is crucial to our business and for our customers to be able to experience the wilderness. Thus, it is natural that we do not leave any traces of ourselves and our activities.
- We practice catch and release (C&R) of fish that does not go on the dinner table.
- We treat the fish we catch and the animals we hunt with care and respect.
- We take consideration for the wildlife in the nature.
- Conserve natural resources by reusing and recycling.
- Minimize environmental impact by using eco-friendly (organic) products and suppliers.
- Minimize environmental impact by choosing local products whenever possible.
- Save energy throughout our business and to continuously strive for optimizing measures so more energy can be saved.
- Use renewable energy for part of our heating and the goal to expand the use and optimize renewable energy.
- Working for the preservation of wilderness and nature.
- Meet or pass regulatory requirements.
- Increased process efficiency in all areas of our business.
- Reduced waste per product or service supplied.
- Constantly strive to improve our Nature Policy and the sustainability of our business.
Our guests and customers should also be committed to live up to the first 4 points of our policy.
The whole policy can be summed up with the 'everyman's right' (allemansrätten) motto "do not disturb - do not destroy".
